The Taste of Monaghan is thrilled to announce that The Raglan Road Tea Room in Inniskeen, a beloved local establishment, has been crowned the Monaghan winner of the prestigious Ulster Fry World Championship. This esteemed accolade not only celebrates the excellence in crafting the beloved traditional Ulster Fry but also fills us with local pride, as it is a testament to the culinary talent and tradition that we hold dear.
After a public vote, five finalists were selected to compete for the title. The esteemed judging panel, consisting of Gareth Moore (Fat Boy Sauces), Mark Hamill (Porky's Restaurant), and Kevin Redmond (Andy's Bar and Restaurant), had the challenging task of choosing the ultimate winner. The Raglan Road Tea Room's Ulster Fry captivated the judges, earning them the top spot. It impressed judges with its exceptional presentation, authentic flavours, and dedication to quality.
“As the Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, it gives me great pleasure to present The Raglan Road Tea rooms with the honour of having the Best Ulster Fry in County Monaghan.” Cllr Bennett went on to say that “This is no easy task, as Monaghan has such a hugh choice of restuarants that serve food of the highest quality and standards. I commend all involved in the Raglan Road and  congratulate the owners for making Monaghans “Best Ulster Fry”. Well done also to the Taste of Monaghan Committee for their ongoing efforts to highlights the great food and producers in County Monaghan”.

The Raglan Road Tea Room, located in the heart of Inniskeen, has long been a favourite among residents and tourists alike. It remains a beacon of traditional Irish hospitality known for its warm atmosphere and delicious homemade fare.
Jenn Gonnelly, Event Coordinator for The Taste of Monaghan, shared her excitement about the win, stating, "The Raglan Road Tea Room embodies the spirit of our local food scene. Their dedication to crafting the perfect Ulster Fry is evident in every bite, and we are thrilled to see them recognized at such a high level. This win celebrates their achievement and shines a spotlight on the culinary talent we have here in Monaghan."
In addition to this esteemed recognition, The Raglan Road Tea Room will go on to compete in the final of The Ulster Fry World Championship in Donaghadee on August 17 as part of the Donaghadee Summer Festival. This exciting opportunity promises to showcase their culinary skills on an even larger stage and compete with the best from all over Ulster.
